What is Quest Health?
Quest Health is a consumer-initiated testing platform operated by Quest Consumer Inc., a subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics. It allows individuals to purchase over 100 different lab tests online without needing a doctor's visit. Tests are performed in Quest's CLIA-certified labs and overseen by an independent physician network (PWNHealth).
Who are the providers?
Laboratory testing is performed by Quest Diagnostics. Sample collection for in-home service is performed by Quest Mobile™ phlebotomists (RNs, LPNs, Medical Assistants). Clinical oversight, test ordering, and optional consultations are provided by independent physicians from PWNHealth.
What conditions can be tested for?
The platform offers screening and diagnostic tests for a wide range of conditions including sexually transmitted diseases, diabetes risk, heart health, hormone imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, tuberculosis, and various cancers. Treatment may be available through physician consultation in some states.
What is the prescription policy?
In some states, PWNHealth physicians may prescribe treatment after reviewing your test results and conducting a consultation. Prescription availability varies by state and is at physician discretion. Controlled substances are not available.
Which states can use Quest Health?
Lab tests are available for purchase in most states. The service is not currently available in Arizona, Alaska, and Hawaii due to regulatory requirements.
What happens after sample collection?
Samples are sent to Quest Diagnostics laboratories for analysis. When results are ready, you receive an email with a secure link to view them. Purchase includes optional consultation with PWNHealth physician. Critical results prompt proactive phone contact.
What is the cancellation policy?
For in-person tests: Cancel within 60 days before sample collection for refund minus $20 fee. For home collection kits: Cancel within 60 days before kit activation for refund minus $45 fee. Orders expire after specified timeframe with automatic refund minus fees.
Is my information protected?
Your health information is protected. While the e-commerce platform operates separately, Quest Diagnostics and PWNHealth handle all health data and are fully HIPAA-compliant, ensuring privacy and security of your protected health information.
